Sub-project Protronic:
Partial circuits and converter design
The main target was the downsizing of DC/DC converters by increasing the switching frequency and thus to enable the contruction of smaller power supplies for small controllers and ballasts for vehicle lighting.
An increase of switching frequency finally allows the redcution of construction size of the capacitive and inductive components and leads to a downsizing of the whole converter. But with higher switching frequencies, the parasitic effects of the applied components will be more evident and have to be icluded.
The results of this project directly affected the development of the RZ-24red, an especially compact power supply unit with release device for hold open systems of fire protection doors and gates.
