New Model Administrative Regulation Technical Building Regulations (MVV TB) 2023 – german
DIN EN 12604 Gates – Mechanical aspects
According to DIN EN 12604 Doors – Mechanical aspects – Version
EN 12604: 2017:
“for gates which are closed exclusively by gravity,
– the operating speed of 0.3m/s must not be exceeded
– or the force applied must not exceed 200N.
If this is not possible, an audiovisual warning device must be installed on the door, which is activated when the door
closes.”
The closing of a door, gate or fire or smoke curtain that exceeds the above requirements must therefore be signalled visually and acoustically.
This applies as well to closing in the event of a power failure.
